Eric Schlosser is an investigative journalist who studied history at Princeton University. He has also written many other books and studied literary journalism. The book I will discuss is titled, Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side off the All-American Meal was his first book. This book is a close up look at how the fast food industry is “ now filled by people who are generally young, unskilled, and willing to work long hours for low pay.” , horrifying stories about E Coli, and the American way of eating fast food as quick fix for everyday meals. The author conducts interviews with high school students and does on site interviews with young fast food employees. The author shares some of his stories about what they have done with the food and then did not care if it was reserved to the customers. The author shares his findings and backs his research with detailed footnotes and acknowledgements.
